Gastritis is the symbol of a lifestyle where, hurry, worry and curry (intake spicy foods) is a routine.
Gastritis is the inflammation of the inner lining of our stomach. Our gastric mucosa is a daily regenerating inner covering of the stomach, which protects our stomach from stomach acids, micro-organisms, and injury. Once this inner lining of stomach gets inflamed by bacteria and other reasons like prolonged use of pain relievers, alcohol etc. gastritis results.
Main symptoms of gastritis are upper abdominal pain, feeling of stomach fullness after taking food, vomiting, nausea, burning sensation in the chest, indigestion, bad taste in mouth after eating food etc. Gastritis can also be associated with inflammation of our food pipe, termed – esophagitis.
Ayurveda explains gastritis with a terminology – Amla pitta, which is due to the imbalance of Pitta dosha. Imbalance of Pitta happens by our improper, unhygienic food and untimely foods and drinks, excessive use of sour, salty and spicy predominant tastes, sharp foods, emotions like anger. Ayurveda says, Pitta also imbalances in Autumn seasons and in the noon time and midnights. This vitiated Pitta, turns in to more burning nature and cause amlapitta.
